On the Agenda: Councilman Cedillo wants to give Highland Park car wash a second chance; outreach in Lincoln Heights; multiple real estate projects for Atwater Village

On The Agenda

With a new year comes a new round of agenda items. On this week’s agenda Council District 1’s Gil Cedillo is seeking to bypass the rejection of a proposed  Highland Park car wash by a local planning commission. Atwater Village has a number of proposed projects on their roster, while Lincoln Heights wants to discuss outreach for 2015.

Atwater Village

  • A number of projects are planned for Atwater Village in 2015, and the Environment and Land Use Committee would like to bring those projects to the public’s attention. They are: a small lot development on Chevy Chase and Verdant; a proposed project on 3116-3124 West Larga Avenue involving the demolition of 2 existing dwelling units for three single-family residences with six parking spaces; a proposed 60-unit project at 3990 & 4000 Chevy Chase on 3.5-4 acres of land; a proposed 6 unit-project on three lots at 2914 Glenhurst Ave. Wednesday, January 7.

Highland Park

  • Councilmember Gil Cedillo, Council District 1, is flexing his political muscle on a project involving a proposed Figueroa Street car wash in Highland Park. The East L.A. Planning Commission back in November voted against a proposal to install a one-story, 496-square-foot automated car wash at the existing Shell gas station at 5137 N. Figueroa. But Cedillo has introduced a motion that, if approved by the City Council,  would give the car wash project a second chance by allowing it to be presented to the Planning and Land Use Committee. Wednesday, January 7.

  1. Gil Cedillo, what a guy. Fighting for the community…not!

  2. Gil Cedillo = small potatoes politics.

  3. Dude, there’s already an automated car wash ACROSS THE STREET!
AND a hand car wash across the other street! Sheesh. Maybe the planning commission, I dunno, saw good enough reason to say no?

  4. Gil Cedillo came back from Sacramento to give all of his little donors payback and blow jobs.

  5. Que lastima que nuestra gente es la razon que la raza no avanza. Si lo mejor que puede hacer Cedillo para nuestra comunidad es un lava carros en la esquina de Figueroa/Avenida 52…..Then let’s get someone else in CD 1 ASAP!!!
On the ballot, let it not have Hernandez, Alatorre, and Cedillo as a last name!

  6. Shady is as shady does!

  7. The other car washes are too noisy!! And, Der Winer has their music too loud at all hours of the day and night!!
No one complains about those things??!!
