What’s with Red Hill? Potted staying put in Atwater; Eagle Rock’s Casa Bianca celebrates 60 years

Shopper and Diner button ECHO PARK Red Hill has been closed for much of the month.  A sign taped to the glass front door says the Echo Park Avenue restaurant would reopen by Jan. 7 to deal with a “few issues with our infrastructure” but the place is still shut down.  What’s going on? Owner Jason Michaud, who also owns Silver Lake’s Local restaurant, said in an email that Red Hill will be reopening after undergoing a “remodel” but had no reopening date at this time.

ATWATER VILLAGE — Some fans of Potted, the outdoor furnishings and garden supply shop, noticed a recent Sunset magazine article that said the shop was moving from its home of 10 years and doubling in size.  But that’s only half true, said co-owner Annette Gutierrez.  While the shop has remodeled and  dramatically increased in size, it has done so at its current Los Feliz Boulevard location and has no plans on moving, she said.

EAGLE ROCK —  While some restaurants come and go,  Casa Bianca celebrates  its 60th anniversary since brothers Joe and Sam Martorana opened the Colorado Boulevard pizzeria, reports the Boulevard Sentinel.
