Barbara Bestor-designed Silver Lake modern seeking $4.25 million

baxterEastside PropertySILVER LAKE —  When this Barbara Bestor-designed home went on the market in 2007, the property sold for $3.35 million in only 11 days.  A few years later in 2012, the same hillside house on Baxter Street sold for $3.07 million – $280,000 less – after the real estate market had tanked.  Now, the contemporary-style house is back on the market, and the buyers are seeking to cash in on the run up in prices by asking $4.25 million, according to Redfin.

The price tag is big but so is the house, which includes more than 7,000 square-feet of space, seven bathrooms, six bedrooms, two fireplaces and a swimming pool.

If a buyer steps forward and pays $4.25 million, it would be the second highest price paid for a single-family home in Silver Lake, according to Redfin.  (Last year’s sale of a John Lautner home for $8.55 million is by far Silver Lake’s most expensive single-family house).
