Oh, No, Look, Out! It’s A Giant Monster! Actually, in this light it’s not that bad. In fact it’s hugging that building. And you know what, when you get down to it what defines a monster as a “monster”? Kaiju is Japanese for “strange creature,” and so a whole lot of artists are reinterpreting monsters at Supahchute Kaiju Show 2: Cuter, Better, Fatter, Stronger with original paintings, sculptures and figurines.

The thousands of runners expected to pour through the streets of Angeleno Heights, Echo Park and Silver Lake on Sunday for the 2015 L.A. Marathon have been warned to expect record-high temperatures. Meanwhile, residents, motorists and bus passengers, have to prepare themselves for the annual round of street closures, detours and delays.

MORNING REPORT: Richard Glatzer, who lived in Echo Park with his husband and fellow filmmaker Wash Westmoreland, died earlier this week from ALS ... A man who was napping outside a senior center at Salazar Park in East Los Angeles was struck and killed by a car that had veered into the park following a collision on Whittier Boulevard ... Carolyn Ramsay and David Ryu remained the two top voter getters in the Council District 4 race as the City Clerk released an updated vote tally from the March 3 election
