Mt. Washington collision leaves one dead


MOUNT WASHINGTON —  One person was dead and another injured during a head-on collision tonight near Marmion Way and Museum Drive, according to Sgt. Roy Escalante with the LAPD Central Traffic Division.

The crash took place shortly before 10 p.m. after one car crossed the into the opposing lane of traffic, according to preliminary information.

A 60-year-old male was pronounced dead at the scene while the 30-year-old occupant of the other vehicle was taken to a hospital in serious condition, according to the L.A. Fire Department.

  3. My heart goes out to the family of the decedent. ABC report indicates the a-hole who crossed into the opposing lane was driving at rate that well exceeded the speed limit, and is suspected of being drunk. Lost my mom under same circumstances. 20 yrs later it is still incomprehensible that someone’s life should end this way.

  4. Drunk scumbag was going 80MPH on Marmion. Insane. Throw the book at him.
