  1. It’s called Blowback. Expect much more.

  2. Oh lord “blowback”? Did you learn that in the Matt Damon”Borne” movies? People like you are what is wrong with NELA.
Uneducated drama queen low thinkers who live in some romanticized gang culture that actually doesn’t exist. When it is just a cycle of poverty through self loathing and community capitulation; justified, because it is far easier to blame everyone else than holding yourself responsible. Never , ever do you see a happy ex con using WiC checks while dragging babies around food 4 less yelling at their lady,
Gentrification is another scape goat in a string of excuses people like you use as crutch to continually validated your indignant responses to a changing world you refuse to be a contributing partner to.
The passage of prop 47 in the past election is the clear reason. The prop passed in an election that had the lowest voter turnout for local elections. Partner that with 9th District Court ruling that enables homeless vagrants to camp on streets at months at a time and you have a recipe for a raise in crime, which it has, city-wide….. not just in your romanticized Highland Park that you akin to CIA backed tribal feuds in Afghanistan, what a joke.

  3. Excellent photo above. I love that house. We live nearby.

  4. On a friendlier note, that mural by Katrina Alexy is terrific! Thanks for sprucing up the neighborhood!

  5. Culturally Unwelcoming

those damn Oxy students, gentrifying NELA since 1887
