Grass fire breaks out near Occidental College

EAGLE ROCK —  An early evening grass fire burned about two acres near Occidental College before firefighters knocked down the blaze using an “aggressive ground & air attack,” according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.

The blaze, which was extinguished shortly before 7 p.m., burned near but did not threaten any structures in the 4600 block of Townsend Avenue, according to LAFD. No injuries were reported.

  1. AKA “Mt Fuji” — great hiking spot up from the Yosemite Park or Occidental.

And, also a place people go to smoke… hope that’s not what happened here.

  2. Culturally Unwelcoming

Mt, Fuji is in Japan. That’s Mt. Fiji.

  3. Was this related to the big fires up nirth? Or just people starting fires on accident, unrelated to the other fires?
