New restaurant planned for former Atwater Village market

Storefront ReportATWATER VILLAGE —  A new restaurant is preparing to open in the space once occupied by Atwater Village Farm, joining several new restaurants that have recently opened up along Glendale Boulevard.

The owner of Ozu East Kitchen has applied for city building permits as well as a state alcohol license to convert the former market at the corner of Glendale Boulevard and Larga Avenue into a sit down restaurant that serves beer and wine.  It’s not known what type of food Ozu East Kitchen will be serving or when it will open. However, online state records name the owner as Paul Yi, who has been active in efforts to beautify King Middle School in Los Feliz.

Ozu East Kitchen would be part of a crop of new restaurants – including Dune and All’Acqua – that have recently begun operating on Glendale Boulevard.

Atwater Village Farm closed last December as its owner, Piper Goldstein, was treated for cancer.
