Off The Saw will be hosting a timber framing intensive workshop in Echo Park. Timber framing is a traditional construction technique that joints heavy, squared-off timbers with large wooden pegs. Samuel Moyer of Samuel Moyer Furniture will lead students in building a timber frame guest house that will be constructed and installed in Echo Park.
We’ll draw from Japanese and Scandinavian traditions as we lay out, cut and erect the structure. We will spend four full days timber-framing and one additional day raising the frame on-site.
