Worship LA hits Echo Park; summer wine picks at Highland Park’s Hermosillo; Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams to reopen


Music meets fashion at Worship LA – a new clothing shop on Mohawk Street near Sunset Boulevard in Echo Park.

Shopper and Diner buttonOwners and musicians Vashti Windish and Sara Villard hope to replicate the success of their first venture, Worship. Located in the Bushwick neighborhood of Brooklyn, Worship revels in Windish and Villard’s true religion – fashion, art and music by hosting art shows, barbecues and musical jamborees.

With the opening of Worship LA, Windish and Villard are bringing their creative fun to the West Coast. The Echo Park store  will showcases styles from local designers, the option to buy, sell and trade clothing and select jewelry.

Worship LA’s launch party is on Friday, May 15 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.  The store will officially open on Saturday.

  • Michael Blackman, co-owner and wine director of Highland Park’s The Hermosillo, recently shared his top five wine picks for the summer in Los Angeles Magazine, with his list includes wines from Paso Robles to northern Italy.
  • Eater LA reports that Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams on the 1900 block of Hillhurst Avenue in Los Feliz will be reopening soon. The ice cream shop temporarily shut down due to a massive listeria recall that affected its retail stores nationwide.
