Sheriff’s bus makes an unscheduled stop in Elysian Heights

ELYSIAN HEIGHTS -- All manner of large vehicles - moving vans, Metro buses and stretch limos - have gotten stuck trying to maneuver up and down the steep streets and tight turns of Elysian Heights and Echo Park. But this appears to be a first: an L.A. County Sheriff's Department bus - the kind used to transport prisoners - got stuck this morning as it headed down Cerro Gordo Street and tried to make a turn at Echo Park Avenue.

ECHO PARK -- It's been hard to keep up with the store closings and openings on Sunset Boulevard. But the pace of change appears to be only picking up speed. The new landlord of the two-story medical office building at the northeast corner of Sunset and Echo Park Avenue - the structure covered with the mural featuring an earth-mother figure - is leasing out the ground floor for $12,500 a month, according to LoopNet.
