A sneak peek inside Echo Park’s new Bar Bandini

Bar Bandini remains under a wrap

Storefront ReportECHO PARK — The interior of Bar Bandini  remains literally under wraps, with a large tarp covering the narrow Sunset Boulevard storefront. But the owners of Bar Bandini,  which occupies the former home of City Sip wine bar, have been posting photos on Instagram of the interior, which has been stripped down for that rustic-industrial look.

When will Bar Bandini open? It’s not clear but the owners, who are said to include actor Josh Weinstein,  held a pre-opening reception this weekend. The city of Los Angeles last year supported the owners’ request to serve alcohol on the premises and sell it in a store. A check on the state’s Alcohol Beverage Control website, however, shows that state alcohol license remains pending.

  1. Please be affordable! #crossingmyfingers

  2. Welcome to the neighborhood…..it’ll be nice to walk down the hill for a drink….hopefully you retain that very local feel that city sip once had

  3. It will be LOUD and loaded with folks who think THEY are cool!

  4. Can’t cheer for any more bars in the neighborhood. Not because I don’t like or use them but because Friday and Saturday nights are now a demolition derby of drunk drivers careering around the back streets. Noise – fine, music – fine, occasional beer can or vomit on the sidewalk – fine. 8 grand of damage to my car from some mouth breathing hit and run driver, not cool. 3rd such incident on my street in a month. Bullsh$t.

  5. I wanted to support City Sip, but the second time I went there, my date and I got terrible food poisoning from the mushroom appetizer so I never went again.

  6. what is gong on with this place? absolutely no activity going on in that space or their instagram for over a month and a half. was so looking forward to going. and, no clue about the former red hill space. work has been going on in the inside for months. but, lately nothing. :9 again, really looking forward to trying out the new concept if it ever opens.
