Blaze breaks out in El Sereno building [updated]

EL SERENO — Firefighters are battling a blaze that broke out this morning in a commercial building in the 4300 block of Worth Street.  One person was transported to be treated for injuries while another is being evaluated, the LAFD reported shortly before 1 p.m.

Update @ 2:30 p.m.  The fire was declared knocked down after about 2-1/2 hours, according to LAFD. Six persons required medical attention. Four were treated & released at scene while two were transported in stable condition.

Update @ 1:25 pm. An “intensive fight” continues with 164 firefighters at the scene, says LAFD.
