Double water main break in Echo Park

ECHO PARK — LADWP crews this morning were working to repair a pair of water mains that broke hours apart on Glendale Boulevard in the southern edge of Echo Park, according to CBS2.

A 12-inch pipe burst around 11 p.m. on Wednesday on Glendale near First Street by the Bob Baker Marionette Theater. It was followed by a second water line break about 200 feet away at 3 a.m., according to CBS2.

Some Angeleno Heights residents said they lost water service late Wednesday night but it’s not clear if that problem was related to the  broken pipes  several blocks away on Glendale Boulevard.

The Eastsider has contacted LADWP for more information.
