Feds indict Atwater & Elysian Valley gang members; police pursuit through Atwater & Cypress Park; Boyle Heights robbery suspect arrested

  • About two dozen gang members in Atwater Village, Elysian Valley and Northeast L.A. were indicted on federal racketeering and other charges, with officials claiming  the gangs had been controlled and organized by the Mexican Mafia. L.A. Times
  • Officers apprehended a wanted gang member in Glendale after a chase through Cypress Park and Atwater Village. ABC7
  • A man suspected of attempting to rob an 84-year-old woman in Boyle Heights has been arrested and is being held on $80,000 bail. EGP News
  • The first phase of a 100-million-gallon underground reservoir complex near Griffith Park has been completed. The new reservoir will replace the Silver Lake and Ivanhoe reservoirs.  Los Feliz Ledger

  1. Wonderful news! Injunct ’em, indict ’em, lock ’em up and throw away the key. Thanks feds for clearing out more of the human trash so we can continue to gentrify this neighborhood.

    • You might want to consider that the unbelievable drop off in crime (erroneously attributed to development) was the product of this truce that unified 3 gangs along the river. Now it appears the majority of the main players who held the operation together are in custody. This could have the opposite effect that you are anticipating if the truce falls apart. Just sayin’
