Off The Saw is a collective wood shop in Downtown Los Angeles that offers classes in woodworking and furniture making. This summer we are offering an introductory class for both teens and adults. Over the course of one day, students will make a cutting board while learning the function and safe use of major woodworking tools such as the tables saw, jointer, planer, and drill press.
In addition to learning basic tools and techniques, students will also discuss how to select material, orient grain for a pleasing aesthetic, mill wood, and choose a proper finish. This is an excellent introductory class to learn about the concepts and machines used in woodworking.
Date & Time:
- Intro to Woodworking – Saturday, July 11 from 9 am – 4 pm
- Intro to Woodworking for Teens – Saturday, July 25 from 9 am – 4 pm
