SILVER LAKE — An explosion in an electrical vault has cut off power to an estimated 16,000 LADWP customers tonight in the Silver Lake area, according to an agency spokesman.
The explosion took place in the 600 block of N. Hoover Street. Service is not expected to be full restored until 6:30 a.m.
Residents on Twitter reported that power went off at about 7 p.m., shutting down traffic signals and snarling traffic.
