  1. Re: the skunks. This is the season when the skunk babies set out to discover the world. They visit my garden every night! Last year, they came in a group of four, did their thing and then left together. This year, they come one after another through the evening, giving my dog many opportunities to get upset while inside the house (she loves it!). My experience with them is that they won’t bother you if you don’t put them in actual danger.

Re: East Hollywood spots. Don’t forget Mi Alma, on Wilson at Melrose, next to the gas station there. They always have treasures.

  2. As a fellow East Hollywood business (www.beatbopboom.com) we’re happy to see our neighborhood get a little love in the L.A. Times. You’ve been good to us, too, Eastsider 🙂 We were happy to see Motley move in just down the street from us on Fountain. Hutch on Heliotrope is great for vintage clothing and furnishings. And we’re really grateful to have De Sano Pizza on Santa Monica nearby. (Possibly the best pizza in the city.) For those on the East Side, next time you’re on your way to Hollywood or points West, be sure to make some pit stops to check out these local businesses. A really great range of merchandise and food options!

  3. Love the photo!
