Fire & Rain: Summer thunderstorms hits the Eastside

Rain. Thunder. Lightning. Fire. Hail. Tropical storm Dolores drenched neighborhoods from Echo Park to Boyle Heights today as powerful thunderstorms rattled windows and nerves. Lightning strikes set trees on fire in Echo Park and knocked out electrical service in Lincoln Heights, while thunderclaps set off car alarms.  Here are some photos and comments residents posted on Instagram and Twitter about today’s rare (at least for Southern California) summer thunderstorms:
