SUV catches fire on Echo Park street

ECHO PARK — Fire destroyed an SUV on Lilac Place in Echo Park this morning. Photos sent in by readers showed firefighters responding to the fire at about 9 a.m. No further details were available.

      In England there is something called an MOT on all cars over 3 years old to examine road worthiness. Over here you see all kinds of glued together contraptions, bald tires, broken turn signals. It doesn’t surprise me in the least that these older cars cobbled together with duct tape and prayer blow up.
