Woman found shot dead in car in Cypress Park [correction]

3200 isabel drive map

CYPRESS PARK — Police detained four individuals and sealed off several streets early this morning after a woman was found shot dead inside a car in the 3200 block of Isabel Drive, reports KTLA.  Officers found the woman, described as between the ages of 30 to 35,  in a car parked in a driveway after responding to calls of shots fired shortly before 3 a.m. More details at KTLA.

The LAPD Northeast Division is asking persons with information about the shooting to call  (323) 344-5701.

Correction:  A previous version of the story said the homicide took place in Glassell Park. That’s wrong. The victim was found shot dead in Cypress Park.

  1. yay…5 minute walk from my pad!

  2. Why do shootings in LA always increase in late summer?

  3. Tragic! I live nearby and it’s usually a very peaceful quiet area. Reminds me of living in a mountain town. Too bad these things – when they happen – remind me that I am in a city where this unfortunately comes with the territory. It shouldn’t though,

  4. To be completely correct its Mount Washington and neither Glassell Park or Cypress Park.

  5. Boooo for gentrification. Let’s have more murders!!!! (Sarcasm) Let’s get these gutter rats out of our community.

  6. It’s actually Glassell Park. All of you are wrong..

  7. It’s Historic Filipino Town dumbasses

  8. So sad – especially that there are kids involved. What’s also sad is the lack of media follow-up. When I was a reporter we’d ask questions like, “did the catch the suspect?” Plus we’d identify the victim. Is she a faceless, nameless person just because this might be due to gang violence. Bottom line – a young woman has died and we should all look out for each other. I live up the hill in Mt. Washington and am going to organize a Neighborhood Watch so we at least can all watch out for each other.

Thoughts are with the family and friends of this young woman!

    • Anne, if you used to ask questions like, “Did the catch the suspect?” then it’s no surprise to me that you’re no longer working as a reporter.

      • I was thinking the same thing!
What I find so disturbing is how so many people immediately assume this is gang related.. Why? Because it was on Isablel Dr. vs. San Rafeal Ave.? Because they’re latinos? Hipsters don’t kill?
Sounds more like a domestic dispute. “Gang members” don’t usually shoot people in a parked car in front of their own house.

        • Please find some examples of hipster on hipster violence for us. Keep looking…..

        • because that corner is notorious for gang activity.

        • Yes, all the 18-25 year old latinos with shaved heads chilling on street corners drinking 40s and mad-dogging passers by are doctors and lawyers, how dare you judge a book by its cover

        • Probably because we live in the area and know that street is notorious for drugs/meth. Also, the crime happened at 3 am. I don’t know many people who decide to hang out on Isabel in front of a known drug house at 3 am… It’s not quantum physics. Where there is smoke there is fire.

  9. I meant, “did they catch the suspect?” I tried to edit it. Sorry!

  10. U r all wrong i t is mt.washington since 5 yrars ago or more when they bilding the high school soto mayor thechange a name if ur on cypress ave on division its cp n gp but if u go up divisio. U r already in mt. Wash.. i would know i live rigjt here on ave 30 n my house got a notice for that change to…real facts
