River rescue in Cypress Park; big-rig freeway crash in Elysian Valley; 2 inches of rain fall on Mt. Washington

MORNING REPORT: Firefighters rescued two persons from a tree in the rain-swollen L.A. River in Cypress Park. A third person and a dog were located near Fletcher Drive .... One person was seriously injured and a SigAlert declared after a big-rig truck crashed on the northbound 5 Freeway near Stadium Way ....
