Griffith Park brush fire extinguished [updated]

LAFD ground crews and water-dropping helicopters are responding to a brush fire that broke out this afternoon in Griffith Park.  At least two-acres has been consumed near Griffith Park Drive on the eastern edge in the hills above the golf course, according to the L.A Fire Department.

Update: LAFD said the fire, which covered three to five acres, was knocked down by 4:13 p.m. after more than 100 firefighters were deployed. No injuries were reported. The cause was under investigation.
