Bulletin Board: Video Game Workshop For Girls

Submitted by The Boyle Heights Arts Conservatory

HNDP, in conjunction with The Boyle Heights Arts Conservatory (BHAC), with the support of Microsoft, are teaming up for a video game competition and open house for a new video game design program. A limited amount of spaces are still available for girls interested in participating.

Inspired by the Beyonce song, Run the World (Girls), Who Codes the World? (Girls) was created to introduce both parents and their daughters to a career in video games. An hour-long workshop will introduce students to what goes into developing a game from art, UX, design, production and of course coding & logic. The day will also include a video game competition, featuring the new game, Adventures of Pip. Two groups, ages 6-11 and 12-16, will compete for a $500 scholarship.
