One man found fatally shot in Elysian Valley [updated]

ELYSIAN VALLEY — Homicide detectives are investigating the fatal shooting of a man who was found inside a parked vehicle in the 1600 block of Blake Avenue this afternoon.

Officers found the victim at about 4 p.m., said LAPD spokesman Mike Lopez. “It’s being treated as a homicide,” he said.

Update @ 8:27 pm: Sgt. Douglas Bowler at the LAPD Northeast Division said that police have not yet determined whether the shooting was a homicide or suicide at this point. “It’s possibly a suicide but that’s not certain yet,” he said. The male victim is believed to be between the ages of 25 to 35, he said.

Eagle Rock 911 posted photos of police and paramedics around a grey pick up truck as nearby streets were blocked off.
