Goodbye Red Hill, Hello The Whisperer

Red Hill's new look

Red Hill’s new look | Amy Schmalz

Storefront ReportECHO PARK — A new sign – “The Whisperer” – has been painted on the exterior of the former Red Hill restaurant, which has been closed since last December.

Reader Amy Schmalz snapped a shot of the newly painted sign on the now black building at the corner of Echo Park Avenue and Montana Street.

What will “The Whisperer” be like? Consultant Dion Antic, who has been involved in revamping existing restaurants, is apparently involved in the project, according to posts on Instagram. But a new Whisperer website remains blank, and the Facebook page offers up no info about the menu.

The Eastsider contacted Red Hill owner Jason Michaud earlier this month to find  what’s going on but so far no details have been provided. However, one person at the site said the restaurant would reopen under a different name and format, possibly by December.

So, the waiting game continues until The Whisperer opens its doors.
