Police chased a suspected stolen vehicle suspect for about an hour last night across the streets of Glassell Park, Hollywood, Silver Lake and other neighborhoods. The pursuit ended when the vehicle hit a spike strip on Riverside Drive, authorities said.

The pursuit began at about 11:45 p.m. as officers spotted a suspected DUI-driver behind the wheel of a green Honda, said LAPD spokesman Ricardo Hernandez. Police then discovered the vehicle had also been stolen.

The chase ended about an hour later on Riverside Drive. Hernandez did not have an exact location. The driver was apprehended. No injuries or collisions were reported.

Eagle Rock 311 had a blow-by-blow, street-by-street account of the pursuit.

  1. Way to go, LAPD! I’m glad to see that Eagle Rock 311 is active again…I used to check it out for breaking news in our area but lately haven’t seen much there. I don’t understand how the “311” sites work, but assume they are run by volunteers and can’t be up 24/7. Thanks to them, also. If not for the Eastsider, Eagle Rock 311, and sometimes ABC 311, we wouldn’t have any up-to-the minute coverage here in Northeast.

  2. thiefs buy ur own car. lames
