Los Angeles based culinary talent agency now accepting applications for first city-wide cooking competition as a showcase for the best line cooks in the city
The Line Restaurant Talent Agency is sponsoring Top Of The Line Cooking Competition to be held at The Park restaurant in Echo Park on Saturday night November 7, 2015. The competition showcases three line cooks from LA restaurants who each execute two dishes for forty diners and three industry judges.
The winner will receive a cash prize and move forward to the next round of competition. The purpose of the competition is to highlight and develop emerging cooking talent in Los Angeles. Applications are currently being accepted from line cooks interested in competing.
Culinary competitions are a proven method for training cooks to become chefs, used worldwide to promote culinary education and advancement. For working cooks in Los Angeles there are few opportunities currently to participate in a competitive event. This competition is one approach to improving the quality and professionalism of cooks in Los Angeles as a means of propelling the city further along its path of becoming one of the world’s great food cities.
“This cooking competition, unlike many on television, is set up to be constructive and uplifting for the competitors,” said Jack van der Hidde managing partner of The Line RTA. “The feedback from the judges will focus on what was done well and ways the dishes can be improved moving forward.”
