Brush fire burning in L.A. River channel near Elysian Valley [updated]


ELYSIAN VALLEY — A brush fire has burned about a half an acre in the bed of the L.A. River tonight near Blake Avenue, according to the L.A. Fire Department. The fire is burning in a hard-to-reach area with heavy brush, according to the @LAFD.

Update: Fire was declared knocked down at about 9:20 p.m., according to LAFD. No injuries were reported structures damaged.
