ANGELENO HEIGHTS — Numerous Angeleno Heights car and truck owners awoke this morning to find their tires had been slashed, with officers estimating that more than 30 vehicles may have been vandalized overnight, said Sgt. Rene Chavez with the LAPD Rampart Division.
The vandalism on West Kensington Road, Laveta Terrace, and other streets is believed to have taken place between midnight and 7 a.m. today, Chavez said. “Officers are still canvassing the area to find clues and witnesses,” he said.
West Kensington Road resident Paul Finegold said a Prius parked outside his home had its tires slashed. After going outside to talk to the owners, Finegold discovered that two tires on his truck had also been damaged.
He then walked around the neighborhood and counted a total of 28 slashed tires on 22 vehicles. “I saw a lot of cars tilting,” he said.
