  • L.A. Unified schools will reopen today with an increased police presence after a security threat prompted the closure of all schools on Tuesday. Officials later determined that the threat was “not credible.” L.A. Times
  • Police identified the man who was shot during an exchange of gunfire with an off-duty officer in Hermon as  23-year-old Joshua Villavicencio. Villavicencio  was shot after apparently trying to carjack  the officer’s vehicle parked in the 500 block of Wheeling Way. Villavicencio was booked on attempted murder. The officer was not injured.   • Occidental College has revoked the honorary degree it gave to Bill Cosby in 1992, joining several other colleges that have rescinded honorary degrees amid allegations of sexual misconduct made against the entertainer.   1. Wow, Wheeling Way is one of my favorite streets. Gotta love what this near unlimited access to guns has done to society. What a world we live in.
