  • A homeless man was found dead Christmas morning in the 1600 block of Lucile Avenue in Silver Lake, according to police and the Silver Lake Neighborhood Council Homeless Coalition. The man’s death, which is not considered a homicide, is being investigated by the L.A. County coroner, according to Sgt. Gutierrez with the LAPD Northeast Division. Gutierrez said the man’s body was reported at about 9. a.m. on Friday.  An official with the coroner’s office said the man was 46 years old but could not release his name until family members had been notified.
  • Some of the Echo Park tenants in apartment buildings owned by the Church of the Foursquare Gospel said they will defy an order from a management company to remove all Christmas lights and decorations from building common areas. CBS2
  • A Cypress Park beauty salon was damaged after a Christmas tree caught fire on Friday morning. ABC7
