Dov Charney loses bid to win back American Apparel; more trees growing in Glassell Park

  • An effort by American Apparel founder Dov Charney, who owns a home in Silver Lake, to regain control of the company failed to win the support of a bankruptcy court judge.  L.A. Times
  • Nearly 70 new street trees have been planted along San Fernando Road in Glassell Park as part of a city-wide program to increase the greenery along major city streets, according to Council District 13. Crews planted Eastern Redbud, Fern Pine, Australian Willow, Ginkgo, Sweetshade, Golden Rain, and Brisbane Box trees on San Fernando Road between the 2 Freeway and Glendale Avenue.  More trees have also been planted on Fletcher Drive.
