  • The trash and debris that clogged catch basins and triggered flooding in Boyle Heights last October is a citywide problem that poses a public safety risk as the region braces for heavy El Niño rains. L.A. Times
  • Fire damaged the second floor of a commercial building in the 4600 block of Valley Boulevard Sunday night. It took firefighters 33 minutes to put out the blaze that began at about 7 p.m., according to the L.A. Fire Department. No injuries were reported.
