Fire destroys Glassell Park commercial building

GLASSELL PARK — It took firefighters more than 90 minutes to knockdown a blaze that destroyed a Glassell Park commercial building and blocked traffic on San Fernando Road this morning.

The fire began shortly after 5 a.m. in a corrugated metal structure near Fierro Street and San Fernando Road near the border of Glassell Park and Glendale, according to the L.A. Fire Department. The blaze was put out by 7 a.m. without reports of injuries. The cause is under investigation.
