January Real Estate Results: Mt Washington heats up; Echo Park cools down; Silver Lake median breaks a $1 million


Mount Washington was one of the hottest real estate markets on the Eastside and citywide in January, with the median sales price jumping nearly 25% from the same month last year to $795,000, according to Redfin’s monthly review of sales activity.

The real estate market in Echo Park, which had been posting some of the area’s strongest gains, cooled down last month but the median still rose more than 10% to $815,500. Meanwhile, in Silver Lake, the median sales price entered the seven-digit range: $1,001,500, up 9.2% from the January of last year.

    Silver Lake is great, but near its peak. Within 5 years, ER home values will catch up… and HLP in 7.
