Armed man holds police at bay in Lincoln Heights [updated]

LINCOLN HEIGHTS —  Police this morning are in a standoff with an armed man who is inside a residence near Albion Street and Avenue 17. An officer at the LAPD Hollenbeck Division said they are waiting for the man to come out or officers will have to remove him from the residence.  They would not provide any additional information.

Update @ 9:18 a.m.:  The man was taken into custody at 8:45 a.m. after coming out of the residence on his own, police said.  An officer at the LAPD Hollenbeck Division said the incident began when the suspect pulled out a gun during a dispute with his roommate. The roommate left the scene and called the police.
