Fifth grader stabbed at Boyle Heights school; new homes planned for Eldred Street; tampered packages Echo Park

  • A fifth grade boy was stabbed in the back during a fight with another fifth grader at Bridge Street Elementary in Boyle Heights. The victim was hospitalized but his condition is unknown. “It was sad,” a child told KTLA. “All of my friends from school were crying.”  CBS2 & KTLA
  • A pair of single-family homes are planned for 4849 and 4853 Eldred Street in Highland Park.
  • Shots were fired into the air but no injuries were reported or arrests made in connection with an incident Thursday night near Avenue 52 and the 110 Freeway, according to police at the LAPD Northeast Division.
  • An Echo Park resident in the 1900 block of Clinton Street said that a person entered their front yard on Thursday and opened Amazon packages waiting to be taken inside.  “We wanted to notify our neighbors that this is going on, and have also reported it to police.”
