Suspects arrested in Highland Park standoff

HIGHLAND PARK — Two suspects are in custody this morning following an armed standoff with police in Highland Park.

The victim called  police at 11 p.m. on Sunday after being assaulted with a deadly weapon, said officers at the LAPD’s Northeast Division. The SWAT team negotiated with the two suspects who had barricaded themselves at a residence at 4933 block Echo Street.

The suspects were arrested at about 3 a.m. and now face charges of assault with a deadly weapon. Police said the suspects and victim knew each other.
