Tracy Do Sells the Lowry Residence in the Franklin Hills

Compass realtor Tracy Do has brokered the successful sale of a remarkable Los Feliz property, the personal residence of renowned architect Dick E. Lowry, AIA. The post-and-beam style house on Mayview Drive was completed in 1973 and is changing ownership for the very first time. Listed at $1.7 million, the final negotiated sale price is $1.875 million, putting it among the highest values ever achieved in the Franklin Hills, the Los Feliz enclave that is rapidly ascending on buyers’ wish-lists.

“Interest in the Franklin Hills is at an all-time high,” says Do. “And you can certainly see why. It’s in a great part of Los Feliz, within the boundary of a highly ranked elementary school. Many of the properties have views and amazing accessibility because they are so near to Los Feliz Village, Griffith Park and the heart of Silver Lake.”

Previously, Ms. Do represented another home that Lowry designed in the Franklin Hills at 3733 Clayton Avenue. That sale, as well as one she listed on nearby DeLoz Avenue, pushed values higher at a time when many L.A. neighborhoods were leveling off.

“The key is our ability to identify market value. By that, I mean the highest price that a buyer is willing to pay within the threshold of our client’s expectations. That’s where my team and I separate ourselves with tremendous success.”

She adds, “The late Mr. Lowry made Los Feliz and Silver Lake more architecturally beautiful and significant. Hearing from his family, and how pleased they are with the sale of their longtime home, makes me very happy.”
