BOYLE HEIGHTS — A burglary suspect was shot and killed by police Sunday night after holding an elderly man at knifepoint in his apartment.

Officers of the LAPD’s Hollenbeck Division responded to a radio call of a burglary on Park Paseo Lane at 8:30 p.m., said LAPD spokesman Drake Madison. When the officers arrived, the suspect was holding an elderly man at knifepoint. The suspect died at the scene after being shot by the officers.
