Echo Park vintage hi-fi shop closing its Alvarado storefront

ECHO PARK — Rewind Audio in Echo Park is closing its Alvarado storefront, The Echo Park Weekly reports. But Jen and Oscar Carpinteyro plan to keep their vintage hi-fi and audio equipment shop alive online. The couple opened the shop six years ago and endured two floods from water breaks on Alvarado. To show their appreciation to Rewind Audio’s supporters, the Carpinteryros invite the community to their shop on April 23 for a celebration that includes music, food, raffles and a toast. Rewind Audio is located on the 1000 block of Alvarado Street in Echo Park.

We will be there at the April 23rd event, Jen and Oscar brought the sweetiest service and advice for repairing my technic turntable when I thought it was done for. Cheers to both of you! Be contacting you online fo’ sheezie.

  2. Wonderful people. They will be missed in the neighborhood. Best of luck with the online business!

  3. I never could figure out their hours(?) and consequently was never able to browse their shop or have them look at an old turntable of mine. I guess they’ll be a lot easier to find online. Although, it seems to me that their business concept should’ve been a sure-fire winner in EP.

    • You can use your computer for more than trolling the eastsider’s comment section Proper douche. A simple google search “rewind audio” shows their hours.

Procopio and the Donald should show up to the event and see who flinches first, or better, maybe talk about some 45s or recent vinyl finds. Show some transparency and celebrate 6 years of Rewind Audio. I’ll be there with a Blue Jay on my hat because it looks cool and Toranto is a bitching city.

        • Tony, that’s tempting but I don’t need to troll for online challenges to find trouble. I bring it with me. It’s documented. Meanwhile, ain’t nothing cooler than the LA logo declaring your native Angeleno status . . . NOT in Los there isn’t . . . “Peace!”

Haha I hustle at Dodger Stadium every year despite having a sweet career. The bird just looks cool. “Peace”
