Silver Lake to get a taste of Burmese cuisine

Burmese Silver Lake restaurant
Storefront ReportSILVER LAKE — Silver Lake will be one of the few places in the Los Angeles area with a Burmese restaurant, reports Eater LA.

Daw Yee Myanmar Corner is making its way from the San Gabriel Valley, and with it comes menu items such as classic tea leaf salads, noodle salads, mohinga (rice noodle and fish soup), oh no khao swe (coconut chicken noodles) and maybe dan pauk (Burmese biriyani with braised chicken), a secret family recipe of restaurateur Dellun Chow.

Opening day is targeted for Mothers’ Day, May 8, as a special tribute to Chow’s mother and her culinary know-how. Daw Yee Myanmar Corner is located in the 2800 block of Sunset Boulevard in Silver Lake.
