Located at located at 3577 N. Figueroa Street, Fig Earth Supply sells edible plants and herbs you can grow in your backyard or in a box or container on the balcony. In addition to plants, the garden center also sells kits to build raised beds, organic soil products and fertilizers.

The store is intended to serve experienced green thumbs as well as beginners. Fig Earth will host an array of workshops to help educate gardeners on beekeeping, water harvesting, tomato canning and other topics..

“We want to reeducate people on organic, edible food gardens and get them to have a strong desire to grow their own foods,” said said Fitzpatrick. “We’ve had many parents tell us their kids will eat vegetables once they grow their own, because they take ownership of the food.”
