Mt. Washington house heavily damaged by fire [updated]

MOUNT WASHINGTON — Firefighters are responding to an attic fire that broke out late this morning in a home in the 4700 block of E. Cleland Ave.  The “structures on two sides are exposed to the fire,” according to an L.A. Fire Department update. No injuries have been reported.

Update at 12: 17 p.m.:  LAFD is deploying water dropping aircraft on the fire as it burns uphill.

Update at 12:32 p.m.:  Fire fighters are close to declaring this blaze knocked down based on LAFD scanner comments.

Updated at 12:44 pm:  LAFD has put out the fire that caused heavy damage to the home. No injuries were reported.
