  1. Good grief. Gil Cedillo wants to throw up a traffic light or stop sign at every conceivable intersection. Now that his driver’s-license-for-immigrants thing is a reality, One Bill Gil has adopted a new singular focus. Barf.

  2. Love the evocative Silver Lake reservoir photo!

  3. “While running for city council, Cedillo expressed support for the road diet, dedicated bike lane plan. But after taking office and holding community meetings on the topic, he dropped his support for the plan, citing the complaints of people who travel the corridor and businesses along the route that reducing lanes for cars will cause traffic tie-ups and increase emergency response times.”

So he gradually installs costly traffic signals and crosswalks that have the same outcome, slowing down motorists. Sort of….you can still speed 50mph between signals. What a hack.

    • Road diets are stupid.

      • I agree. I think the better term would be road buffet! Diets = less options. Buffet = more options! So, it’s a more appropriate term, given that the redesign adds a center turn lane (great for increasing flow and reducing collisions) and bike lanes. Down with road diets! Up with road buffets!

      • Road diets, handrails on staircases, escape boats on ocean liners, and fire alarms = stupid things!!!
