Two bodies recovered from L.A. River; persons identified as missing teens [updated]

CYPRESS PARK –– Two bodies were recovered from the L.A. River near Cypress Park, the LAPD said tonight.

Update on May 2: The county coroner has identified the bodies as that of  Carlos Daniel Jovel, 16, and Gustavo Ramirez, 15, according to L.A. Now.  The cause of death has not been determined.

The bodies were recovered following a search for two teenage boys who were reported missing on Friday, according to KTLA. On Friday morning, two bodies were reported  in the river near Rio de Los Angeles State Park but a search did not find any persons, according to KTLA.  That evening, two sets of parents reported that their sons had gone missing, police said. The two teens were still missing as of today.

Postings on social media identified the missing teens as Carlos Jovel and Gustavo Ramirez.

I’m really sorry for their familys we should pick up when they are calling from another number because my kids always forget charging their cells so the barrow other kids cells some times with a diferent area code or tell them to text u so u know is them it happens to me keep ur love ones safe god bless u
