East L.A.’s D.W. Griffith Middle School votes on name change; profile of an Echo Park artist

  • Students, teachers and community members are voting this week on whether to change the name of D.W. Griffith Middle School in East L.A.. The school is named for silent film pioneer D.W. Griffith, who has been criticized for his portrayals of African Americans and the K.K.K. in his film, Birth of a Nation. EGP News
