Storefront ReportSILVER LAKE — Newcomer Sawyer debuted in Silver Lake, serving seafood and other dishes in an attractive indoor and outdoor dining areas, according to Eater LA. A mix of light and dark wood tables and chairs, a vibrant brick floor and surrounding foliage sets the the tone for the patio of the Sunset Boulevard seafood spot. Inside, the dining room boasts raw wood flooring, communal tables and an L-shaped bar decked out in azure blue tile. Chef Alex McWilliams designed the menu with both large and shareable dishes, including raw seafood options, salt cod Brandade, soft-shell crab sandwich, clam chowder as well as fried chicken. Expect brunch to commence next month. Sawyer is located in the 3700 block of Sunset Boulevard.

Right next door to Sawyer, Clover Juice has launched in Silver Lake, according to a posting on the company’s Facebook page. Their farm-to-bottle juice concept has blossomed since its inception in 2013, with storefronts on La Brea and Vermont Avenue in Los Feliz, and online ordering to boot.

Both Sawyer and Clover Juice fill the space left vacant long ago by Tantra restaurant  in the 3700 block of Sunset.

    Do we know if they will be serving local line caught fish? In this neighborhood one would expect so but it doesn’t hurt to ask.
