EL SERENO — A grass fire that threatened homes in El Sereno this afternoon was knocked down after scorching about two acres, according to the L.A. Fire Department.
The blaze, which began before 1 p.m. near the 540 block of S. Huntington Drive, was put out in about 47 minutes.
No injuries have been reported and evacuation was ever never ordered. However, homes near the fire are “being inspected to determine if they sustained any superficial damage,” according an LAFD post on Twitter.
There’s no word on what caused the fire.
